Family Session Tunes September 2016

Here are the tunes played at the September 2016 Milwaukee Irish Fest Family Session. We will include links to some good examples of video or audio recordings for tunes that aren't as familiar to musicians that were present.

Jigs: Jimmy Ward’s/Connachtman’s Rambles

Polkas: We Won’t Go Home Till Morning/Cuz’s/Britches Full of Stitches (key of A)

Reels: Humors of Tulla/Drowsy Maggie/Mountain Road

March: Dawning of the Day

Hornpipes: Boys of Bluehill/Off to California

Slip Jigs: The Butterfly/A Fig for a Kiss (slip jigs)

Jigs: Swallowtail/Humors of Glendart (jigs)

During the session, we chatted a bit about a couple tune transcriptions available, and some demonstrations of bowing styles of the Sligo fiddle masters. Here are a couple links.
