Family Session Tunes February 2016

Here are the tunes played at the February 2016 Milwaukee Irish Fest Family Session. We will include links to some good examples of video or audio recordings for tunes that aren't as familiar to musicians that were present.

Jigs: Jimmy Ward's/Connachtman's Rambles

Barn Dance: Lucy Farr's (G major)

Polkas: We Won’t Go Home ‘Till Morning/Cuz’s/Britches Full of Stitches (A major)

Hornpipes: Harvest Home/Stack of Wheat

Reels: Old Copperplate/New Copperplate

Reels: Humours of Tulla/Drowsy Maggie/Mountain Road

Slip Jigs: A Fig for a Kiss/Butterfly

Reels: Silver Spear/Banshee/Jackie Coleman's

Nice break down of "The Mountain Road" courtesy of Kevin Burke:

Lovely version of the "Old Copperplate" from flute player Conal O Grada here. This track is unaccompanied as well, so it's great for bodhran and guitar/bouzouki players for practicing!

This version of the Copperplates from Paul O'Shaughnessy starts out with the one we call "New Copperplate."
